Plans for the future This is a ministry for everyone – ‘each according to your means’ 2 Cor 8:11
Follow what has happened so far on the page Plans for the future and read the leaflet Giving in Grace.

Clock stops for repairs We are carrying out some major repairs to the church’s clock. Scaffolding will be erected in the coming week and then the four dials will be taken away for repairs. The scaffolding will remain until the dials are returned. During this time the clock mechanism will be stopped. We’ll use this opportunity to inspect the oak louvres and the tower’s brickwork.

Vicarage Coffee Morning An open house will be held on Saturday 9 September from 1030-1200. You may not have been able to visit the vicarage when Derek and Sandra first came. If you didn’t (and even if you did!) you are invited to pop in for a cuppa. It would help if you could RSVP to Sandra.

Tea and Memories A new monthly meeting for people with dementia is being held on the first Friday of the month at Hampton Methodist Church, Percy Road, from 1030-1200.

Greenwood Centre Our local charity is looking for volunteers to help run the reception desk, drive the minibus or help on board. From just two hours a month to two days a week, they can find a task to fit your hours. Phone Gemma Paine on 020 8979 9662

Return those boxes! Would all Children's Society collection box-holders please bring them in to David or Nicky Hetling for counting. If you would like to join our collectors speak to one of them in church.

Planned Giving If you are part of our Planned Giving scheme (donating money regularly by standing order or direct debit) then please collect a thank you letter from Derek from the south aisle. Thanks to your commitment our income has risen by about 10%, helping us to reduce our deficit.

Sunday Refreshments The addition of the 1100 service is putting greater pressure on the small hospitality team of Clare and Kirstie. They have asked if we can form a team of people to take it in turns to set up drinks in church at about 1130. Having people willing to help will also enable us to provide cover in the hall for the regular team when they are away. Please see Derek.

Spire Appeal Thank you to everyone who has already made a donation to the Spire’s annual appeal. The more money we raise, the greater number of copies we can distribute in our parish. When we have such a good quality magazine it seems a shame not to promote it more widely!

Planned Giving We have made a good start to increasing our giving to cover our running costs. If you have not yet replied to Derek’s letter, please do to help us budget for 2017-18.

Sound and screen We are looking for more volunteers to help operate the sound system and screen during services, including weddings and funerals (for which a fee is paid). If you are interested let Nick in the office know. You don’t need to have any expertise as full training will be given.
